Why should we pay for educational coaching when it is free in the counseling office of our school?
As a previous school counselor, I know that all counselors wish they could spend more time with students one-on-one, but unfortunately, Indiana has the highest average school counselor-to-student ratio in the country - 694 students to 1 counselor. The average ratio throughout the US is 408 students to 1 counselor.
The average public school student receives only 38 minutes of personal college counseling over 4 years. Just 4 in 10 students reported that they received any college counseling advising at all. Counselors are pulled in many directions, and college advising is only one item on their long to-do list. On average, public school counselors spent 19 percent of their time on postsecondary counseling in 2018–19.
At EdPath Coach, our caseload is a maximum of 32 students. Our students receive, on average, 22 hours of personal educational counseling. Each student is unique to us, and we treat every student and family as individuals. There is no one-size-fits-all approach. We specialize in educational counseling. It is our passion and all that we do!

Do you only work with students in Indiana?
No! I am based in Indiana, but I work with students all over the country. I am an avid traveler and enjoy learning about educational opportunities wherever I go.

Do you help with financial aid?
Yes, I know that financial fit is a big piece of the puzzle when it comes to finding a college match. College is one of the biggest financial investments you will ever make for your child’s future well-being. Using an Education Coach can help ensure that you and your child are picking a path that fits them and will lead to success. It is not about your child “getting in” it is about them getting out - graduation! Together I will guide your child toward a best-fit school where they will stay and graduate.
86% of students pay less than the sticker price for college, and I can provide recommendations for colleges that will be good financial fits as well.

What is your background in emotional wellness education?
I have been a school counselor for 13 years in different high schools. Part of the training to become a school counselor is in how to support students in managing their emotions and applying interpersonal skills. I went above and beyond this and I have been trained in Youth Mental Health First Aid, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), I am certified QPR Trainer (for suicide prevention), and a Joy Potential Coach. I am passionate about proactive, preventative, strengths-based emotional wellness education.
